Join Hike for Epilepsy!

In August 2021, a team of Epilepsy Action supporters will be taking on the adventure of a lifetime and trekking the Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory.

This challenge covers some of the most exciting parts of the Larapinta track, and takes you through historic Alice Springs and into the wilderness. If you choose to take on this challenge, you’ll get a deeper understanding of the spiritual and cultural essence of Australia as you explore the land that has been inhabited by aborginal people for over 50,000 years.

Before setting off on your adventure, you’ll hear from Aranda Elders on the history of the area and be able to immerse yourself in the beautiful landscapes that are typical of this region. From Alice Springs you’ll head into the world famous Australian bush, taking on one of Australia’s most loved bushwalking trails.

On your adventure you’ll discover the sheltered gorges and high ridelines that are typical of the region, as well as seeing the iconic mountains of the West MacDonnell Ranges. As you walk along well-defined paths and more rugged sections of the track, you’ll be surrounded by endless stretches of red desert and ancient bush.

With spectacular views of Mount Sonder and Haasts Bluff resting in the distance, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the great Aussie Outback.

The best part? As you take on this incredible challenge, you’ll be raising money for Epilepsy Action Australia – a charity that enhances the lives of people living with Epilepsy.

By taking on this incredible challenge you will be supporting people with epilepsy, who otherwise may not have access to the services they need. Epilepsy Action Australia is an amazing charity that delivers innovative services that increase understanding, raise awareness and leverage research into Epilepsy.

Your work on this epic hiking adventure will have a life changing impact for those with epilepsy. The support you will provide will enhance the lives of those affected by epilepsy across Australia and make a real difference to how the neurological disorder is perceived and understood in Australia.
