Tell us about yourselves

We like many families have been affected by this dreadful disease and have been participating in the Mothers Day Classic walk for the past 10 years and raising funds to help find a cure. We have decided to continue our efforts in raising funds for the NBCF by joining this amazing event.

What inspired you to take on your first Inspired Adventure for NBCF?

Our inspiration comes from the many people who have been affected by breast cancer and especially our 80-year-old mother who has fought and won the battle twice.

How are you feeling about the challenge ahead? Have you ever been to China before?

We have never been to China and we are very excited about both the physical and fundraising challenge.

What have been some of the highlights of your fundraising experience so far?

It is still early in our fundraising campaign but so far the highlight would be the amount of donations of goods we have received for our upcoming monster garage sale.  Together with our mum and aunty we delivered 1000+ flyers to local residents and we have been overwhelmed with the huge response of donations received.  Can’t wait to see the result of the sale being held in October!

What have been your biggest challenges in taking on an Inspired Adventure? How did you overcome this?

For Julie a fear of heights was an initial concern but together we have been training and working on overcoming this so hopefully by the time we hit China it will be much easier to take on The Wall. Our commitment to this adventure has forced us to work at improving our fitness and has also allowed us to spend more time together.

What are you most looking forward to about your upcoming adventure?

In addition to our excitement for the trip we are looking forward to seeing what we can achieve both physically and financially by the time we head to China for the adventure of a lifetime!
