Mt. Kili for Billy

Billy was Henry’s first guide dog, giving him the independence and freedom Henry’s blindness took away. The adorable, silky-eared lab and Henry bonded immediately.  It was man’s best friend, and trusted partner, indeed.

When Billy died suddenly, Henry was devastated. So as tribute to Billy’s life and their partnership, Henry set a huge goal: to climb Kilimanjaro and raise money for Guide Dogs NSW /ACT.

Climbing with his group of Inspired Adventurers, including another vision impaired trekker, Henry  completed the challenge with the help of phenomenal local guides. Upon reaching the summit, he says, “my guide, Peter, was ecstatic! We shouted, we jumped in the air, we acted like crazy men, and we embraced.”

Henry raised more than $31,534 for Guide Dogs NSW/ACT. The team has altogether raised $106,475, to support the guide dogs program.
