Happy Halloween!

It may be over for another year, but in the spirit of spookiness we wanted to share some of our favourite “scary” fundraising ideas. From terrifying trivia, to costume competitions, here are our Halloween-inspired ideas to add a little fun to your fundraising.

Escape Room

Escape rooms seem to have taken the world by storm, and they’re a great group activity for fundraising. The concept involves solving puzzles in a room within a limited time, with the goal being to escape. If you can wrangle a team together to take part, you can turn it into a fundraising event by charging your own fee, or asking for donations on the day.

Haunted House

There is something about haunted houses that gets our desire to be spooked. You can either deck out your own house or garage, or rent out a space in a hall. Come up with your theme; is it zombies, or ghosts? Cover the windows with cardboard, make sure the space is as dark as possible, and decorate with your guests’ other senses in mind: something slimy or furry on the walls that they can touch. Add some creepy music, a few props and actors, and you’ve got yourself a creepy haunted house experience!

Terrifying Trivia

Whether it’s horror movie trivia, ghost stories, or murder mystery facts a trivia night with a terrifying twist can be a fun way to get people interested in your fundraising event.

Horror Movie Night

Movie night fundraisers can be highly effective, and themed movie nights even more so! Have a selection of movies, like A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist, or even a foreign horror film that you haven’t seen. You can follow it up with a bit of trivia to keep your guests on their toes.

Costume Competition

Dressing up is fun, whether it’s Halloween or not and a costume competition is a great way to get creative… and maybe even a little competitive with your friends. You can keep it open or have a theme in mind (like zombies or fairy tale villians) to keep things interesting.
