Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women. In fact, on any one day, 48 Australian women will hear the words, “you have breast cancer”.

As part of BCNA’s Outback Adventure, you will join a group of inspiring individuals dedicated to supporting all Australians affected by breast cancer. With every kilometre you cover, you will help BCNA to provide free programs, resources and support to all Australians affected by breast cancer, no matter who they are or where they live.

The Larapinta Trail is regarded as one of Australia’s premier walking tracks. From the old Alice Springs Telegraph Station to the peak of Mount Sonder, the trail stretches 223 kilometres along the backbone of the West MacDonnell Ranges.

On this incredible—yet challenging—adventure, you will stand on ancient escarpments and gaze out upon the ochre-coloured landscapes of Central Australia. You will follow Aboriginal Dreaming tracks and trek beside one of the world’s oldest river systems.

By day, you will challenge yourself as you trek across the Red Centre, experiencing the diversity of desert habitats and learn the unique history of Australia’s Indigenous peoples. At night, you will fall asleep to the sounds of native wildlife under a blanket of stars.

Join today and help us support Australians affected by breast cancer.

How your fundraising will change lives:

•$30 gives women diagnosed with breast cancer a copy of The Beacon magazine, our free national magazine for women with breast cancer and their families.

•$55 provides a newly diagnosed woman with a My Journey Kit, BCNA’s free, comprehensive information resource that offers easy to understand information about treatment and the ‘next steps’.

•$200 allows one woman diagnosed with breast cancer to attend a free community information forum with her partner, family or carer.

BCNA are also developing a strategy to increase their reach to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island (ATSI) people diagnosed with breast cancer in rural parts of Australia. The survival outcomes for ATSI people diagnosed with breast cancer are significantly lower than the general population. Your participation on this adventure will help BCNA to raise much-needed awareness to help reduce this inequality.

With your help, we can continue to support, inform, represent and connect Australians affected by breast cancer.
