“The trek was amazing! Truly life changing. A great group of people. An experience I will cherish for life. The solitude is so good for the soul.”

— Lauren, Tasmania Adventure 2018

On average, you could fill the MCG eight times over with the children living in Australia right now who have been or will be sexually abused.

Join the Bravehearts Tassie Cycle and, with every kilometre you cover, you will help prevent child sexual assault and exploitation. As part of this incredible adventure, you will raise vital funds to educate, empower and protect Australian children.

From Launceston to Hobart, over seven days you will cycle the scenic wine-growing regions of Tamar Valley, discover the epic beauty of Cradle Mountain and traverse the rugged northern edge of Tasmania’s Wilderness World Heritage Area.

As uncultivated natural landscapes transition to quaint rural properties and eventually into the colonial beauty of Tasmania’s capital city, you will arrive in Hobart tired, yet inspired by your team effort to help make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child.

As part of this adventure, you’ll support Bravehearts in their mission to prevent child sexual assault and exploitation in our society and help fulfil their vision to make Australia the safest place in the world to raise a child.

Through your fundraising and physical efforts, every dollar donated will fund Bravehearts’ personal safety education programs, and provide counselling for children and families affected by child sexual assault and exploitation.

Your funds will protect Australia’s children:

— Just $12 will help educate a child in personal safety

— $75 can support a crisis phone call to our support line

— With $150 a child affected by sexual assault or exploitation will receive support through specialist counselling

How challenging is this adventure?

This adventure is ranked 3.5/5. While no extensive cycling experience is required prior to registering, our adventures are designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. The trek is a physical challenge, and the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the experience.

This itinerary is designed for intermediate to advanced cyclists. The routes consist of coastal rides, mountain climbs and gravel segments, avoiding major roads where possible. Cyclists can choose to ride as little or as much as they like and there will be a support vehicle to help those who don’t want to ride or need to rest.

You will be well supported on the adventure, with the guides and your team all cheering you on. You are free to move at your own pace and we will take frequent breaks.

How do I fundraise?

Never fundraised before? Not sure where to start? No worries, we don’t expect you to do it alone. You will have regular support from the Inspired Adventures fundraising team, who will help you make a fundraising plan to meet your target. Alongside personalised coaching, we will also send you lots of ideas and resources on how to fundraise. From online fundraising to trivia nights, to bake sales and out-of-the-box ideas, we have years and years of tried and tested tips to make your fundraising a success.

Who will I be travelling with?

We believe small group travel is better for the planet, and better for you. Our adventures usually have 10 – 20 people aged from 18 to 90+ (younger ages considered on request). You can be sure that you have all come together with the shared purpose of making a difference to others and having the adventure of a lifetime.

The group will be led by a local tour guide with expert knowledge of the region. Many groups will also be accompanied by an Inspired Adventures team leader or doctor to support and motivate the team.

Where applicable, a charity representative may also join the team. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your chosen charity and their work.

We understand the dilemma of making travel plans when the world feels unpredictable right now. You can still register for an Inspired Adventure in complete confidence, because we promise to look after you should COVID-19 travel bans affect your plans.

If COVID-19 travel bans mean your Inspired Adventure cannot go ahead as scheduled, we will endeavour to reschedule the departure to a later date to allow you still to travel as planned.
