Conquer the Flinders Ranges on foot for Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation.
Each day nine Australians die from suicide. One in five people have been diagnosed with a mental health issue. It’s not hard to see that this is one of the biggest health issues of our lifetime, and Breakthrough is trying to solve it. It contributes to groundbreaking research into what causes mental illness, how to treat it and how to prevent it from happening.
Take the challenge of hiking South Australia’s Flinders Ranges and raise $3,500 to help Breakthrough continue its crucial work. All the money you raise will go towards research into youth mental health, eating disorders, Indigenous mental health and depression.
For five extraordinary days you’ll take part in a hiking adventure exploring some of Australia’s most spectacular landscape. Sculpted by millions of years of geological activity, the Flinders Ranges is a region of immense beauty and rich history. Head out on foot and discover the red peaks, gorges and valleys for which it is famous.
Are you ready to pull on your boots and contribute to research that will affect every one of us, either directly or indirectly, during our lifetime? This is an adventure you’ll never forget and the chance to give back to the community.
In Australia, one in five people have a diagnosed mental health condition; every single day nine Australians die from suicide. Mental illness has become one of the biggest health challenges in our lifetime and continues to grow at an alarming rate.
By joining the Flinders Range adventure, you’ll help Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation tackle mental health issues head on. All funds raised from this challenge will be invested in crucial research projects aimed at determining what causes mental illness and how it can be prevented. Your hard-earned fundraising efforts will be tied to projects focusing on youth mental health, depression, Indigenous mental health and eating disorders. Beyond helping to fund research breakthroughs, you’ll be raising awareness of mental illness, reducing the stigma surrounding it, and providing hope for Australians living with mental health issues.

Who will I be travelling with?
We believe small group travel is better for the planet, and better for you. Our adventures usually have 10 – 20 people aged from 18 to 90+ (younger ages considered on request). You can be sure that you have all come together with the shared purpose of making a difference to others and having the adventure of a lifetime.
The group will be led by a local tour guide with expert knowledge of the region. Many groups will also be accompanied by an Inspired Adventures team leader or doctor to support and motivate the team.
Where applicable, a charity representative may also join the team. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your chosen charity and their work.
We understand the dilemma of making travel plans when the world feels unpredictable right now. You can still register for an Inspired Adventure in complete confidence, because we promise to look after you should COVID-19 travel bans affect your plans.
If COVID-19 travel bans mean your Inspired Adventure cannot go ahead as scheduled, we will endeavour to reschedule the departure to a later date to allow you still to travel as planned.
