“The most amazing and memorable thing I have ever done.”

— Melista King, Trek4BrainCancer, Larapinta 2019

Every year, around 1,970 people are diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia and approximately 1,550 die from the disease.

Join the Cape To Cape challenge and raise vital funds to help rapidly increase brain cancer survival and improve quality of life for people impacted by the disease.

On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, you’ll trek more than 50 kilometres over 3 days along some of the most picturesque sections of the Cape To Cape trail, renowned for its stunning hiking tracks, incredible waterfalls and jaw-dropping views. Nestled on the Western coast of Australia, this walking trail is home to some of the most beautiful waters in Australia and features impressive coastline views that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Not only will you get the chance to tick off your bucket list with a group of like-minded people, you’ll also be rewarded by knowing that you’ll be raising vital funds to help CBCF invest in novel treatments to improve brain cancer survival times.

For those diagnosed with glioblastoma, the most common brain cancer, there are very few treatment options. Receiving the heartbreaking news that either yourself or a loved one has this kind of cancer can be debilitating, as the options are so minimal and one of the main medications used at present doesn’t work for many people. Temozolomide was added as a medication alongside radiotherapy back in 2005, however many patients do not respond because they carry a gene that inactivates the effect of temozolomide. This is unacceptable.

Your amazing work on this trek will help the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation invest in novel treatments to accelerate change and improve survival rates and quality of life. Their Innovation Programs are tailored to identifying new drugs and better understanding the biology of the tumour in order to save lives and improve quality of life for people suffering from brain cancer.

Your funds will go directly towards research, much of which includes pivotal brain cancer trials that will save lives. By taking on this fundraising challenge, you’ll help the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation towards increasing brain cancer survival rates and improve the quality of life for those impacted by this disease.

How challenging is this adventure?

This adventure is ranked 3/5. While no extensive trekking experience is required prior to registering, our adventures are designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. The Mini Cape to Cape Challenge is a physical challenge, involving trekking approximately 18 kilometres over hilly terrain in one day. The fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the experience. You will be well supported on the adventure, with the guides and your team all cheering you on. You are free to move at your own pace and we will take frequent breaks.

How do I fundraise?

Never fundraised before? Not sure where to start? No worries, we don’t expect you to do it alone. You will have regular support from the Inspired Adventures fundraising team, who will help you make a fundraising plan to meet your target. Alongside personalised coaching, we will also send you lots of ideas and resources on how to fundraise. From online fundraising to trivia nights, to bake sales and out-of-the-box ideas, we have years and years of tried and tested tips to make your fundraising a success.

Who will I be travelling with?

We believe small group travel is better for the planet, and better for you. Our adventures usually have 10 – 20 people aged from 18 to 90+ (younger ages considered on request). You can be sure that you have all come together with the shared purpose of making a difference to others and having the adventure of a lifetime.

The group will be led by a local tour guide with expert knowledge of the region. Many groups will also be accompanied by an Inspired Adventures team leader or doctor to support and motivate the team.

Where applicable, a charity representative may also join the team. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your chosen charity and their work.

We understand the dilemma of making travel plans when the world feels unpredictable right now. You can still register for an Inspired Adventure in complete confidence, because we promise to look after you should COVID-19 travel bans affect your plans.

If COVID-19 travel bans mean your Inspired Adventure cannot go ahead as scheduled, we will endeavour to reschedule the departure to a later date to allow you still to travel as planned.
