Join the Trek4BrainCancer in Patagonia’s Los Glaciares National Park and raise funds to support a new clinical trial that could change the future of a brain cancer diagnosis.

Experience one of the world’s hidden gems on this incredible adventure set in the mountains of Patagonia’s Los Glaciares National Park.

Home to the Perito Moreno Glacier and Fitz Roy Massif, Los Glaciares is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its stunning landscapes, imposing glacial mountains and impressive sweeping views. It’s a place where time stands still—one of the few truly remote locations in the world, untouched, mysterious and otherworldly.

This once-in-a-lifetime adventure is your chance to experience Patagonia’s hiking highlights including the impressive Perito Moreno, Cerro Torre Valley and Huemul Circuit. Over six days, you’ll trek between dramatic mountain peaks and majestic glaciers, walk through lush meadows and marvel at ancient volcanic landscapes. From the look out at Laguna de los Tres, you’ll experience some of the most unforgettable views, breathing in the crisp mountain air and enjoying the exhilarating feeling of taking on this epic challenge with your team.

You’ll also have the opportunity to visit the Glaciarium Museum, explore the picturesque local towns and learn more about the history and culture of Patagonia and its people.

At night, you’ll camp under the shadow of the mountains, sharing stories with your fellow teammates and falling asleep to the peaceful sounds of the flowing river.

By taking on this incredible adventure you’ll experience this unique region of the world all while raising funds for vital brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness.

Around 1700 people are diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia annually and approximately 1200 die from the disease every year.  Brain cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease and more people under 40 than any other cancer.

That’s why we rely on supporters like you to help us change what a brain cancer diagnosis means for individuals and their families. A new immunotherapy clinical trial, SEQUITUR will be available to patients with recurrent brain cancer or rare types of gliomas — the most common form of brain cancer. For brain cancer, SEQUITUR is an acronym for: SEQUential ImmunoTherapy In Underserved Rare cancers.

Immunotherapy has revolutionised the way we treat cancers such as melanoma, colorectal and lung. Unfortunately the same treatments have not shown efficacy in brain cancer. It is more likely that a combination of immunotherapies will work for this cancer type, due to its complexity.

At Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, we are supporting the inclusion of patients with brain cancer to this highly novel trial platform called SEQUITUR. Patients will be treated with combinations of immunotherapies, assigned according to the molecular signature of the tumour. This clinical trial will be open to all Australian patients soon.

By joining us on the Trek4BrainCancer, you’ll help us fund this important, potentially life-saving research, and change the face of a brain cancer diagnosis for patients now and in the future.
