Help us raise vital funds to support, facilitate and advocate world-class translational research by taking on a challenge to trek the Great Wall of China!

The Hike for Health brings together supporters from various Australian and New Zealand health and medical research organisations for an adventure trek to the Great Wall of China. You’ll be part of an incredible team, raising awareness and funds for a health organisation close to your heart. You’ll stand united, as a team, atop the Great Wall, knowing the difference you’ve made.

On the Hike for Health, you’ll travel through history to the very heart of China’s ancient culture.

Starting in Beijing, you’ll quickly swap the hustle and bustle of the city for the majesty of the Great Wall. You will challenge yourself like never before as you trek on remote and unrestored paths, between mountains, through local villages and across rolling farmlands. With the support of our expert guides, you’ll explore the many facets of the Great Wall, deciphering the ancient stories and poems etched into its watchtowers, every brick seeming to tell a story of war and adventure.

Immerse yourself in the ancient history of this World Wonder, explore Beijing’s Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven, and experience the poignancy of Tiananmen Square.

Best of all, you will be raising funds to assist some incredible health and medical research charities as we work towards better health for all Australians and Kiwis.

The Hike for Health’s goal is to raise critical funds for health and medical charities in Australia and New Zealand. We want to assist health and medical research organisations to provide the best possible outcomes for Australian and Kiwis.

The fundraising from this adventure will further support Charlies Foundation for Research and the great work carried out at Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park Hospitals. Every dollar raised will be channelled through several different funding pathways throughout both hospitals, ensuring all areas of medical research are supported, which is the cornerstone that improves patient care in Western Australia.

As the primary fundraising body for both hospitals, Charlies Foundation is situated within Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital’s vibrant medical research culture, where incredible advances in medical care and innovation have been achieved, all thanks to passionate supporters like you.

Your hard work will go towards all areas of medical research, which is the cornerstone that improves patient care in Western Australia.

“The Foundation is a place where we work together as a family to make a lasting difference in patient care… With your support we can make miracles happen.” – Vicki Rasmussen
