ChildFund Vietnam 2021

The ChildFund Pass It Back Challenge 2021 is an exciting opportunity to trek northern Vietnam with like-minded ChildFund supporters and help make sure all children have a childhood.

Sound like an adventure for you? Here’s what’s in store…

After touching down in Hanoi, you’ll explore this bustling city and get to know your teammates and local guides.

From Hanoi, you will then travel to the enchanting hill tribe region of northwest Vietnam. Here, you’ll trek for five days amongst patchwork rice paddies and rippling green mountains. As you trek, you’ll visit rural villages and experience traditional Vietnamese culture, every kilometre revealing a new splendour.

With your trek complete, you’ll make a trip to dazzling Ha Long Bay – famed for its limestone karsts jutting out of emerald water.

Finally, you’ll spend two days visiting ChildFund projects to meet with program staff and learn firsthand about ChildFund’s work. You’ll see your fundraising dollars in action and maybe even play a game of tag rugby with kids in the ChildFund Pass It Back program.

The funds you raise will support ChildFund Pass It Back, an innovative and award-winning sport for development program which teaches valuable life skills to help children overcome challenges, inspire positive social change and ‘pass it back’ to their communities.

The program is breaking through gender barriers: over half of all players and coaches are girls and young women.

Our approach is focused on how change for children is driven at three levels: players, coaches and communities.

PLAYERS

Through integrated rugby and life skills learning modules, children improve their leadership and life skills, sports skills, attitudes and behaviours in a safe and structured way. Playing as part of a team provides young people with access to an expanded support network. Players also carry their knowledge and experiences back to their communities and can become future coaches in the program.

COACHES

Coaches are supported to deliver rugby and life skills activities to children in their communities. These coaches have increased resilience, confidence, vision and voice. They promote learning amoung young people in their communities. They ‘pass it back’ and become active citizens promoting positive social change.

COMMUNITIES

Community members, including parents and caregivers, place an increased value on their children’s participation in activities contributing to positive social change.
