Get ready, the adventure starts here…

The Great Walk of China 2019 is your opportunity to conquer the twists, turns and steps of the Great Wall of China while raising funds to provide opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.

Winding its way across the north of China, from the Yellow Sea to the Gobi Desert, the Great Wall of China is one of mankind’s most impressive architectural accomplishments.

As part of this adventure, you’ll travel through history to the very heart of China’s ancient culture. Over five days, you’ll trek between mist-covered mountains, into local villages, across rolling farmlands and through dense forest.

With the support of expert guides, you’ll explore the many facets of the Great Wall, deciphering the ancient stories and poems etched into its watchtowers—every brick seeming to tell a story of war and adventure.

Swapping the majesty of the Great Wall for the hustle and bustle of Beijing, you are immediately immersed in China’s rich culture. Discover the ancient history of the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven, experience Tiananmen Square and marvel at the modernity of the 798 Art District.

What makes this experience even more special is knowing you’ve raised vital funds to help make possibilities a reality for people with disability.

This is more than a bucket list adventure. Your participation will turn possibilities into reality for people with disability.

When you take to the Great Wall of China you will do so knowing you’re providing opportunities for people with disability to live their best life; from learning life skills, living independently, finding a job they love and being actively involved in their local communities. Through the generosity of supporters like you, Endeavour Foundation provided services and support to more than 4,000 people with disability last year.

Your participation provides:

Accommodation

Your support helps to build modern, accessible houses so people with an intellectual disability can choose where and with whom they live. You’ll be supporting people to live more independently, develop their living skills and exercise more control over their lives.

Work

Having a job is an important part of an inclusive and empowering community for people with intellectual disability. You’ll be providing opportunities for people with disability to work, develop skills, earn an income, explore their interests and be involved in the community.

Social and community participation

Our learning & life skills programs provide independence, confidence, life skills and social participation for people with intellectual disability.
