Over 5 days, you will test your endurance and explore the diverse landscape and unique wildlife of the world heritage listed island. In September 2021, Fraser Island was officially renamed K’gari (pronounced “Gurri”), the traditional name for the land, after a long campaign from Butchulla Elders and the community. The name means “paradise” and this is exactly what you can expect from its lush rainforests, breathtaking gorges, crystal clear freshwater lakes and beautiful beaches.
The best bit? You’ll be raising funds for research targeting the prevention, better treatments and a cure for MS, together with other like-minded adventurers.
Every dollar raised by you through the Kiss Goodbye to MS Fraser K’gari Trek will help MS Research Australia fund life-changing research targeting the prevention, better treatments and a cure for MS.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most common acquired chronic neurological disease affecting young adults and is most commonly diagnosed between 20-40 years old. There are 25,600 Australians living with MS, and approximately 10 people are diagnosed every week. Research is the key to changing these statistics forever.
Our researchers are now certain that we can stop and reverse the effects of MS in our lifetime. But we need more funding! It’s not a matter of ‘if’ we can stop and reverse MS, it’s a matter of ‘when’.
Research not only gives hope – but confidence. Confidence that there will be a future where MS no longer has an impact on peoples’ lives like it does today.
Join the team today and help us on our mission to Kiss Goodbye to MS once and for all.
