This has been the trip of a lifetime

Kristin, Tuscany adventure, 2018

Join the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) on their Tuscancy Trekking Challenge and walk 100 kilometres to help raise money for game-changing breast cancer research. This epic trek will test your endurance as you walk around the famed Tuscany region of Italy. There’ll be rolling hills, cobbled-street villages and plenty of stunning sights as you trek from Lucca to Siena, along the ancient Via Francigena walking route.

During the trip, you’ll trek 100 kilometres over six days alongside expert guides. Long days spent walking and nightly team dinners means there will be lots of time to connect with your fellow teammates, all like-minded people with the aim of raising money for breast cancer research. You’ll have the chance to explore historic Italian towns and you’ll make memories to last a lifetime, all while getting fit and supporting NBCF!

NBCF has already raised $1 million from people just like you, trekking, cycling, and running around the world. This money has helped fund research which has had remarkable results, shown through increased survival rates. But the job’s not done.

Are you ready to take on a challenge of a lifetime, support NBCF and help raise vital money for life-saving breast cancer research?

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia. Its incidence is increasing, with 8 women dying from the disease every single day. Research is the only way to improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated.

The National Breast Cancer Foundation is Australia’s leading national body funding game-changing breast cancer research.

Their mission is simple: stops deaths from breast cancer. How? By identifying, funding and championing world-class research – research that will help detect tumours earlier, improve treatment outcomes, and ultimately – save lives.

They receive no government funding. What they do, would not be possible without the support and generosity of people like you.

To date, over $1 million has been raised for NBCF by people like you who a have ran, cycled and trekked all around the world with Inspired Adventures. But there’s still more to be done.

Is Tuscany the challenge you have been waiting for? Join the movement and help fund a better future.

How challenging is this adventure?

This adventure is ranked 3/5. While no extensive trekking experience is required prior to registering, our adventures are specifically designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. The Tuscany trek is a physical challenge, involving trekking approximately 86
kilometres over 5 days. The fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the experience.

You will be well supported on the adventure, with the guides and your team all cheering you on. You are free to move at your own pace and we will take frequent breaks.

How do I fundraise?

Never fundraised before? Not sure where to start? No worries, we don’t expect you to do it alone. You will have regular support from the Inspired Adventures fundraising team, who will help you make a fundraising plan to meet your target. Alongside personalised coaching, we will also send you lots of ideas and resources on how to fundraise. From online fundraising to trivia nights, to bake sales and out-of-the-box ideas, we have years and years of tried and tested tips to make your fundraising a success.

Who will I be travelling with?

We believe small group travel is better for the planet, and better for you. Our adventures usually have 10 – 20 people aged from 18 to 90+ (younger ages considered on request). You can be sure that you have all come together with the shared purpose of making a difference to others and having the adventure of a lifetime.

The group will be led by a local tour guide with expert knowledge of the region. Many groups will also be accompanied by an Inspired Adventures team leader or doctor to support and motivate the team.

Where applicable, a charity representative may also join the team. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your chosen charity and their work.

We understand the dilemma of making travel plans when the world feels unpredictable right now. You can still register for an Inspired Adventure in complete confidence, because we promise to look after you should COVID-19 travel bans affect your plans.

If COVID-19 travel bans mean your Inspired Adventure cannot go ahead as scheduled, we will endeavour to reschedule the departure to a later date to allow you still to travel as planned.

Inspired Adventures requires that all travellers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as described in government guidelines and ground operator requirements.

For more information please refer to the COVID-19 hub on our website.
