Oxfam Alps2Ocean 2022

The Alps2Ocean challenge is regarded as one of New Zealand’s most stunning cycling trails. Listed as the longest of New Zealand’s 22 “Great Rides” it isn’t a challenge to be sniffed at.

On this incredible adventure you’ll see Aotearoa in all its glory as you cycle from the Southern Alps to the ocean! Whether you’re a sucker for mountain views, open green spaces or natural wonders like glacial lakes, you’ll see it all on this epic trip.

Starting at the foot of the country’s highest mountain, you’ll tackle a 300km cycle ride through beautiful scenery, finishing on the coast in Oamaru. The views on this trip really are spectacular, and make all that exercise worth it! Plus, you’ll enjoy quiet country roads and a lot of downhill tracks that go easy on the legs. What’s not to love?

One of the best things about this adventure is the cause. Two of the world’s most respected charities have joined forces to bring like-minded people together who want to take on an amazing #Ride4Rights.

Not having access to basic essentials, like safe water, nutritious food, and shelter, make it difficult for people to live dignified, healthy lives.

They work with some of the world’s most vulnerable communities to provide people with the tools, education, experience, and knowledge to help them work their way out of poverty.
