Every 4 minutes, another Australian is diagnosed with cancer.

Join the Peter Mac Cape to Cape Challenge 2022 to support vital cancer research and help give every person with cancer the best chance of cure.

On this once-in-a-lifetime adventure, you will trek through breath-taking coastal and forest scenery over 5 days, across the ever-changing landscape of the Cape to Cape trail—witnessing the fascinating geological cliffs, caves, rock formations and headlands.

Perched atop the coastal cliffs, you’ll immerse yourself in the natural surroundings of this region and experience some of the highlights it has to offer, including Kilcarnup, Bob’s Hollow, Horseshoe Bay, Prevelly and many more sights. With a stop at Gracetown—one of the few spots along the Margaret River coast that offers calm, turquoise waters for swimming, you’ll enjoy each destination as much as you’ll enjoy the journey.

Not only will you get the chance to tick off your bucket list with a group of like-minded people, but most importantly, you will be helping give hope and a second chance at life to people affected by cancer.

Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation’s mission is to enhance the ability of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre to achieve better health outcomes for people with cancer. The Foundation provides funds to help make new life-saving discoveries possible so that every person with cancer has the best chance of a cure.

As a participant of the Peter Mac Cape to Cape Challenge 2022, you will:

– Give leading researchers the specialised resources they need to discover cancer cures

– Provide seed funding to help internationally recognised researchers explore bold new research ideas that could change the way we think about cancer

– Help ensure Peter Mac has access to income that will support our work for generations to come

Every donation, whether large or small, plays an important role in Peter Mac’s work. By supporting Peter Mac, you will help enable life-saving cancer research and give new hope to all people affected by cancer.

How challenging is this adventure?

This adventure is ranked 3/5. While no extensive trekking experience is required prior to registering, our adventures are designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. The Cape to Cape Track is a physical challenge, involving trekking approximately 18 kilometres over hilly terrain in one day. The fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the experience. You will be well supported on the adventure, with the guides and your team all cheering you on. You are free to move at your own pace and we will take frequent breaks.

How do I fundraise?

Never fundraised before? Not sure where to start? No worries, we don’t expect you to do it alone. You will have regular support from the Inspired Adventures fundraising team, who will help you make a fundraising plan to meet your target, as well as support from Peter Mac. Alongside personalised coaching, we will also send you lots of ideas and resources on how to fundraise. From online fundraising to trivia nights, to bake sales and out-of-the-box ideas, we have years and years of tried and tested tips to make your fundraising a success.

Who will I be travelling with?

We believe small group travel is better for the planet, and better for you. Our adventures usually have 10 – 20 people aged from 18 to 90+ (younger ages considered on request). You can be sure that you have all come together with the shared purpose of making a difference to others and having the adventure of a lifetime.

The group will be led by a local tour guide with expert knowledge of the region. Many groups will also be accompanied by an Inspired Adventures team leader or doctor to support and motivate the team.

Where applicable, a charity representative may also join the team. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your chosen charity and their work.

We understand the dilemma of making travel plans when the world feels unpredictable right now. You can still register for an Inspired Adventure in complete confidence, because we promise to look after you should COVID-19 travel bans affect your plans.

If COVID-19 travel bans mean your Inspired Adventure cannot go ahead as scheduled, we will endeavour to reschedule the departure to a later date to allow you still to travel as planned.
