A very special experience with so many wonderful people who inspired me with their brave and kind hearts.”

— Anna Morris, 2018 Inspired Adventurer

As part of this epic one-day challenge, you’ll trek Australia’s only true alpine region to the summit of its highest peaks, to give seriously ill and injured children and their families a home away from home during treatment and recovery.

Following well-worn tracks through woodland and grasslands, you’ll experience the barren beauty of the Australian Alps, trekking over rolling peaks, past historic huts, beside crystal clear lakes and between unique granite rock formations.

Best of all, with every step you take, you’ll raise vital funds to support the renovation of key areas at Ronald McDonald House Randwick, so more families can stay together in times of crisis.

As part of the RMHC Sydney Three Peaks Challenge, you’ll help families stay together throughout a child’s treatment and recovery from serious illness or injury.

The funds you raise will support the renovation of key areas within Ronald McDonald House in Randwick, so RMHC Sydney can continue to provide holistic care and a home away from home for families in need.

It costs just $160 to provide a night’s accommodation for one family at Ronald McDonald House Randwick.

With every step you take as part of this incredible adventure, you will ensure sick children experience an improved clinical journey as a result of physical and emotional proximity to their families, assist in children’s care, from admission to recovery and transition back to school and everyday life, provide a safe and supportive space for families to connect and unwind, allowing them to better focus on supporting their sick children and lessen the burden on hospital resources, allowing hospital staff to focus on achieving the best clinical outcomes

Your fundraising and physical efforts will help give seriously ill children and their families the best chance at recovery. Even if the road is long, RMHC Sydney will always be there… but they need your support.

How challenging is this adventure?

This adventure is ranked 3/5. While no extensive trekking experience is required prior to registering, our adventures are specifically designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. Summiting Australia’s highest peaks, including Mount Kosciuszko, is a physical challenge. You’ll be required to trek approximately 18 kilometres over 6–8 hours. The fitter you are, the more you’ll enjoy the experience.

You’ll be well supported on the adventure, with the guides and your team all cheering you on. You’re free to move at your own pace and we’ll take frequent breaks.

How do I fundraise?

Never fundraised before? Not sure where to start? No worries, we don’t expect you to do it alone. You will have regular support from the Inspired Adventures fundraising team, who will help you make a fundraising plan to meet your target. Alongside personalised coaching, we will also send you lots of ideas and resources on how to fundraise. From online fundraising to trivia nights, to bake sales and out-of-the-box ideas, we have years and years of tried and tested tips to make your fundraising a success.

Who will I be travelling with?

We believe small group travel is better for the planet, and better for you. Our adventures usually have 10 – 20 people aged from 18 to 90+ (younger ages considered on request). You can be sure that you have all come together with the shared purpose of making a difference to others and having the adventure of a lifetime.

The group will be led by a local tour guide with expert knowledge of the region. Many groups will also be accompanied by an Inspired Adventures team leader or doctor to support and motivate the team.

Where applicable, a charity representative may also join the team. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your chosen charity and their work.

Do I need to have travel insurance?

Travel insurance is highly recommended for domestic adventures, to cover cancellation, hospital, emergency evacuation and lost luggage. We advise that you purchase your policy as soon as possible. It’s up to you to ensure you have fully comprehensive travel insurance and you’ll need to share these details with our team before departure. For more information, please visit www.inspiredadventures.com.au/travel-insurance-information.

We understand the dilemma of making travel plans when the world feels unpredictable right now. You can still register for an Inspired Adventure in complete confidence, because we promise to look after you should COVID-19 travel bans affect your plans.

If COVID-19 travel bans mean your Inspired Adventure cannot go ahead as scheduled, we will endeavour to reschedule the departure to a later date to allow you still to travel as planned.

Inspired Adventures requires that all travellers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as described in government guidelines and ground operator requirements.

For more information please refer to the COVID-19 hub on our website.
