Located in the heart of Central Australia, the Larapinta Trail is regarded as one of Australia’s finest long-distance walking tracks. Stretching across the breathtaking West MacDonnell Ranges near Alice Springs, the legendary trekking route offers an abundance of natural treasures and awe-inspiring sights.

As part of this incredible adventure, you will traverse along the most spectacular and rewarding sections of the trail, trekking over 60 kilometres. You will discover the beautiful, untamed landscapes of Australia’s Red Centre, taking in everything from ancient red rock formations and spectacular gorges to magnificent canyons and crowd-pleasing sunsets. You will visit sites sacred to the Arrernte people and learn the history of Australia’s traditional owners and gain a deeper understanding of indigenous culture.

By raising funds through The Smith Family’s Outback Trek you are helping to break the cycle of disadvantage for families around Australia. Your fundraising efforts will help to provide long term education support to disadvantaged Australia children. Support that will help these children to complete school, and go onto further study, training and employment

• $642 can provide financial assistance and dedicated educational support to a student for one year through the Learning for Life program

• $750 can give five students the access to books and a trained reading buddy for 18 weeks to improve their reading skills

• $1,000 can fund a life-changing intensive leadership course to help disadvantaged students build motivation and self-confidence, learn about teamwork and develop the intellectual and emotional skills they need to chart a successful career path

• $3,300 can sponsor a disadvantaged tertiary level student for one year, assisting with educational resources required to complete their degree
