“The most humbling and emotional time of my life with a group of people who share a common bond and believe in the future.”

— Trevor Neil King, Trek4BrainCancer Larapinta 2019

Brain cancer kills more children in Australia than any other disease and more people under 40 than any other cancer. Each year around 1,900 Australians are diagnosed with brain cancer, and 1,500 die of the disease. Survival rates are low and have hardly changed in 30 years, at just 22 percent. Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is the leading voice for brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness in Australia and is on a mission to increase brain cancer survival and improve the quality of life for people living with this disease. Your support is helping them to achieve their vision of a cure for brain cancer.

When you trek the Cape to Cape Track with Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, over 5 days, you’ll discover the breathtaking coastal and forest landscape of Western Australia. Following both scenic and more physically challenging trails, you’ll walk beside limestone cliffs and stretches of open ocean, explore sand dunes and sheltered woodland forests. Together with your fellow teammates, you will discover this unforgettable region of Australia while raising funds for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation as they work to find a cure for brain cancer.

All of the funds raised on this adventure go directly to Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, Australia’s leading organisation for brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness. The funds will help us invest in novel treatments to improve brain cancer survival rates, including pivotal clinical trials that will save lives. By taking on this challenge and fundraising for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, you’re helping to rapidly increase brain cancer survival and improve quality of life for people impacted by the disease.

How challenging is this adventure?

This adventure is ranked 3/5. While no extensive trekking experience is required prior to registering, our adventures are specifically designed for people who are relatively fit and willing to train. The Cape to Cape trek is a physical challenge, and the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the experience.

Much of the trekking will be on soft sand, but other sections will be on rocky headlands.

You will be well supported on the adventure, with the guides and your team all cheering you on. You are free to move at your own pace and we will take frequent breaks.

How do I fundraise?

Never fundraised before? Not sure where to start? No worries, we don’t expect you to do it alone. You will have regular support from the Inspired Adventures fundraising team, who will help you make a fundraising plan to meet your target. Alongside personalised coaching, we will also send you lots of ideas and resources on how to fundraise. From online fundraising to trivia nights, to bake sales and out-of-the-box ideas, we have years and years of tried and tested tips to make your fundraising a success.

Who will I be travelling with?

We believe small group travel is better for the planet, and better for you. Our adventures usually have 10 – 20 people aged from 18 to 90+ (younger ages considered on request). You can be sure that you have all come together with the shared purpose of making a difference to others and having the adventure of a lifetime.

The group will be led by a local tour guide with expert knowledge of the region. Many groups will also be accompanied by an Inspired Adventures team leader or doctor to support and motivate the team.

Where applicable, a charity representative may also join the team. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about your chosen charity and their work.

Do I need to have travel insurance?

Travel insurance is highly recommended for domestic adventures, to cover cancellation, hospital, emergency evacuation and lost luggage. We advise that you purchase your policy as soon as possible. It’s up to you to ensure you have fully comprehensive travel insurance and you’ll need to share these details with our team before departure. For more information, please visit www.inspiredadventures.com.au/travel-insurance-information.

We understand the dilemma of making travel plans when the world feels unpredictable right now. You can still register for an Inspired Adventure in complete confidence, because we promise to look after you should COVID-19 travel bans affect your plans.

If COVID-19 travel bans mean your Inspired Adventure cannot go ahead as scheduled, we will endeavour to reschedule the departure to a later date to allow you still to travel as planned.
