Join Cure Brain Cancer Foundation on the Trek4BrainCancer for a life-changing adventure trekking the Annapurna foothills in Nepal to raise funds to accelerate new treatments for brain cancer.
The Annapurna region is among the best trekking destinations in the world, with high snowcapped mountains towering over traditional villages draped in prayer flags.
Beginning in Kathmandu, you will soak up Nepal’s colourful and charming capital city with all five senses on a guided city tour. Then, you’ll swap the hustle and bustle for the majesty of the open landscapes of the Himalaya foothills. You’ll trek for six days through terraced rice fields, across pristine rivers and into dense rhododendron forest in the shadow of spectacular mountains. You will follow narrow paths through villages and witness the surreal sunrise from the popular viewpoint of Poon Hill. By night, you’ll sleep in traditional teahouses, enjoying meals and sharing stories with the locals.
Best of all, the Trek4BrainCancer will help change to future for people diagnosed with brain cancer.
Brain cancer kills more children than any other disease. It also kills more young adults under 40 than any other cancer. The current five-year survival rate is just 20%.
Despite these sobering facts, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation is hopeful of increasing the five-year survival rate to 50% by 2023. Your participation in the Trek4BrainCancer will help fund innovative research and bring world-class clinical trials to Australia enabling access to new treatments at the same time as they are available globally.
Last year, because of support from people like you, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation funded the biggest ever brain cancer research push in Australia’s history. They funded 25 world-class research projects, with 200 collaborators, across four continents, including supporting five new clinical trials.
