Join Wesley Mission QLD for the Wesley Mission Bibbulmun Trek 2021 and raise vital funds for Hummingbird House, Queensland’s only children’s hospice.

Sweeping coastal views, serene forests and mist-filled valleys make ‘the Bibb’ a true nature-lovers’ hike.

Over 7 days, you’ll trek through towering karri and tingle forests, exploring ancient trees and admiring diverse native wildflowers. Beginning at Walpole, the trail takes us to the Giant Tingle Tree—one of the largest living eucalypts in the world, towards the coast with spectacular views of the rocky headlands and sparkling beaches. Crossing small creeks and sandy heath, you might be lucky enough to spot whales and dolphins swimming peacefully, from an ideal vantage point.

At the top of Conspicuous Cliff, we’ll be rewarded with stunning views to Point Irwin and Point Hillier. If the weather permits, you’ll get in a quick swim to cool off after a long day. This is an unforgettable adventure on one of Western Australia’s premier hiking trails and the perfect way to experience this breath-taking region.

The funds you raise on this adventure will help keep Hummingbird House services free and accessible for Queensland families.

Hummingbird House provides families with compassionate, individualised end of life care to make every precious moment count.

The heartbreaking reality is that an estimated 3,700 Queensland children are living with life-limiting conditions, which can include congenital heart abnormalities and neurodegenerative conditions. Diagnosis with a life-limiting condition means a child is not expected to reach 18, and in most cases their life expectancy is much shorter.

Hummingbird House supports these children and their families through life’s hardest transition by creating a home-like environment with specialists who provide pain and symptom management as well as grief and bereavement support to families.

It costs over $4.4 million each year to operate Hummingbird House as a free service for Queensland families. Just over a third of this amount is proudly funded by the Queensland Government and the Federal Government. We must raise the remaining amount each year to continue providing this care.

The funds you raise on this challenge will help keep the doors of Hummingbird House open and make sure our in-home support specialists across the state are accessible to families free-of-charge.
