Cate Faermann

Cate has spent much of her working life campaigning on environmental and social justice issues in Australia. Her current role for an international NGO sees her leading a campaign for better protection of the marine environment along Australia’s east coast. Originally from Qld and now based in Sydney, Cate was CEO of the Nature Conservation Council of NSW for five years and also a Member of the NSW Parliament for three years. Cate was a founding director of the online campaigning organisation GetUp! and is currently on the boards of Clean Up Australia and Sea Shepherd.

Cate’s love of travel and adventure saw her and her partner take the very first trip organised by Inspired Adventures in 2005 to Northern India – ‘Trek for Tibet’ for the Australia Tibet Council. Her partner Paul has led trips for Inspired Adventures to Sumatra and Mt Kilimanjaro. They have travelled many times to South East Asia, including to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Laos. Her latest adventure was dogsledding and seeing the northern lights in the Arctic Circle in Northern Norway.
